Senate Bill 348
Prohibits the use of drones within 500 feet of critical infrastructure or in a manner that interferes with the official duties of a first responder.
Critical facilities include—but are not limited to—power plants, hospitals, military installations, water
treatment plants, oil and gas facilities, and courthouses, etc.
Senate Bill 167
Prohibits any person or state agencies from using drones for unwanted or unauthorized surveillance. This includes any surveillance done without the consent of the individual, property owner, or business being surveilled. An exception applies to state agencies gathering evidence or data grated that they have an official warrant.
Senate Bill 167 has died in committee and is currently not a law in New Mexico.
